CHRISTMAS AT THE FARMHOUSE – A Holiday Decorating Series

Christmas at the Farmhouse Decorating Series

Introduction: Welcome to Christmas at the Farmhouse. This series has been all about sharing how I’ve decorated my home for the holiday season in ways that feel warm, welcoming, and personal. From cherished vintage pieces to simple festive touches, each space reflects the heart of the season for me. Today, I’m bringing all the episodes together so you can see the entire process and hopefully find some inspiration for decorating your own home for the Christmas season. Let’s take a look back at each space and how it all came together.

Episode 1: Rustic Winter Village Buffet

I started the series with my buffet, turning it into a rustic winter village that feels like a quiet snowy evening. I used a neutral runner, rustic log cabin houses, bottle brush trees, and a little sparkle. Adding a few personal touches like vintage figurines made it feel unique. This display is cozy and neutral but has become one of my favorite areas!

Episode 2: Vintage Christmas Tree Hutch

Next, I tackled my antique curved front display hutch, filling it with vintage Christmas trees I’ve collected over the years. Each tree holds its own story, whether it’s from a thrift store find or a family treasure. Grouping them by color and size while layering in texture with greenery and lights gave the hutch a soft, inviting glow. With all the trees lit up at night, it gives the room such a nice glow!

Episode 3: Vintage Farmhouse Christmas Kitchen

In the kitchen, I kept things simple but festive. A few vintage mugs, sprigs of greenery, and functional holiday decor brought the space to life. These small touches add warmth without getting in the way of everyday use. Between baking and cooking I spend a lot of time here, so I wanted to make it feel just as special as the rest of the house.

Episode 4: A Wintry Front Porch with Feather Trees

The front porch was all about creating a peaceful, wintry feel with feather trees and a color palette of blues, golds, and silvers. It’s a calm and welcoming entry that sets the tone as you walk into the house. I wanted it to feel understated but still festive enough to inspire a holiday feel when coming up on our porch.

Episode 5: Snowman Collection Display on a Bookshelf

For this episode, I turned a china shelf into a fun snowman display and bookshelf. I mixed snowmen of different sizes and styles with a few faux snowballs and a handful of vintage Christmas books. It’s a whimsical spot that brings a little extra cheer.

Episode 6: A Christmas Tree and Family Reflections

This was the most personal episode for me. I decorated my Christmas tree while sharing thoughts about family estrangement and the mix of emotions that can come with the holidays. The tree itself is filled with sentimental ornaments and a few vintage finds, creating a space that feels both joyful and reflective. It’s a reminder that the holidays are as much about healing and hope as they are about celebration.

Episode 7: Decorating a Hutch with Vintage Dishes and a Stained Glass Village

In this episode, I used my mom’s favorite 1990s vintage dish set and a stained glass village to dress up my primitive hutch. The stained glass pieces add such a colorful glow, especially with the lights shining through them. Pairing them with the dishes created a mix of whimsy and charm that feels just right for the holidays.

Episode 8: Small Touches with Big Impact

This episode was all about the little things—those small corners and spaces that often get overlooked. Whether it was a tiny wreath, a festive centerpiece, or a little vignette on a side table, these small touches brought the whole house together. It’s amazing how much impact a little detail can have.

Episode 9: Coffee Bar Turned Cocoa Bar

One of my favorite spots is the coffee bar, and for Christmas, I turned it into a cocoa bar. It’s stocked with festive mugs, candy canes, and jars of cocoa mix. It’s simple, but it’s become such a useful area that needed a little holiday touch—plus it’s perfect for a cozy evening treat.

Final Episode: Christmas at the Farmhouse Home Tour

To wrap up the series, I shared a full tour of my farmhouse decorated for Christmas. Each space reflects a piece of what makes the holidays special to me—memories, family, and a love of home. While this series didn’t go exactly as planned (roofers disrupted my schedule, and the tour was moved to a week after Thanksgiving), it’s been a joy to share this process with you. Thank you for coming along for the ride and for letting me share my home with you this Christmas season.

Closing: Decorating for Christmas is about more than just making things look pretty—it’s about creating a home that feels like a warm and inviting space for the holidays. I hope this series inspires you to make your space your own, using what you love to bring the season to life. Wishing you a Christmas filled with love, peace, and the kind of moments that really matter!
